Hi.....

I've looked through the images in the marriage register and only the October entry in there. I wonder if the banns register has been copied as marriages by a transcriber. The banns were called the previous month . The images of the indexes are computer/typed not the original scans so could have been entered or does that sound impossible. Looking at the two pages they are completely different layouts.

Hi,

I think this might be Abraham in 1871 as I can't find any Absalom anywhere else,

1871  RG10/1425  f.90  p.16  Henley on Thames, Oxfordshire
West Hill, "The Red Lion" Lodging House

Absalom AUSTIN    Lodger    Unm    69    Tinman    Tetsworth Oxon

Staying with eight other lodgers, Thomas CLEMENTS is the head of household.

If Abraham was just a lodger they might not have known much about his details.

Regards,
Daisy

:) Like that, now trying to figure out the Ann Austin b c 1833/4 as shown as Austin on both 1841/51 whilst William C & George are Steptoe in 1851, if same children?

Baptism

George son of Ann Steptoe single woman Haseley. 21 January 1838

William Charles son of Anne Steptoe  Haseley 17July 1836

Could Ann be Abraham's daughter. I can't find a baptism to fit.
