Tracing the matriarch side of a Devon family
« on: Thursday 28 September 17 14:15 BST (UK) »
Having exhausted the findings of the male side of my family I want to trace the female line.
My great grandmother was Alice Mary Eveleigh 1860-1942.  She was born (I think) in Clayhidon, died in Upottery Devon and married John Harris (1861-1930) in 1883 and had 8 children.
I would really like to know the names of her parents if anyone can help me please.
Doble.  North. Garrish. Jewell. Gillard.
Vincent.  Spiller. Collings. Board.
Harris. Manfield. Manning. Salter. Eveleigh.
Strawbridge. Matthews. Sweetland.
Devon. NZ. Australia.

Hi

Welcome to Rootschar!

Do you think that this is her?

Upottery is Honiton

Sep 1942 Honiton     5b     4 Alice Mary Harris (78y)

Makes yob 1864 (ish), if the one who registered her death knew.

Their marriage Q1 1883 was Honiton too.

Tamsin Eveleigh's birth in 1866 gives mother's maiden name as Goff.
