Hi Heywood,

I don't know where in Ireland the children were born. They were:

John Bradley 1834–1923
Stephen Bradley 1838–
William Bradley 1846–
Joseph Bradley 1848–
Julia Bradley 1848–1849

John was born about 10 months after the wedding that took place in Co. Wexford. I haven't found any of these children in the Bunclody Union parish registers that are online. Some family members have stated they thought the Bradleys were from Queens/Laois. I am wondering if maybe the kids were born there? Otherwise, Queens and Kings may have been mixed up as lore was passed down the generations.

Hi Hallmark,

All the family went to Canada together in 1849, so there probably won't be any records for them after that point in time (in Ireland).

There are parts of Offaly which are close to Laois, for instance the town of Portarlington is in both Offaly and Laois and Tullamore is close to Laois. Therefore your ancestors could have been born in Kings or Queens county. The village I live in is in Offaly but only a few kilometers from Kildare, Laois , Meath and Westmeath.

Hi,
Looking at the trees in Ancestry they say born in Portlaoise, County Laois.
Known at that time as Maryborough.

Hi Maggsie,

Yes, this goes down to the family lore I mentioned in my OP that said he was from Laois. There's no proof of this, and based on his marriage, I'm suspicious that he was more likely born in Co Wexford...
