Photo dating please. Possibly Elijah Simpson and mom/sister/wife. Victoria BC

I am trying to ascertain who the people are in this photo and I'm wondering if anyone can help me narrow down the year, or decade?  I believe they are my GGGrandparents but it would depend on the date, and the estimated age of the man and woman.  Are they a couple?  A mother and son? Siblings? or ?  Most likely, taken in Victoria, BC.

Early 1860's or possibly very late 1850's.
A young married couple & may be a wedding photo.
You can see attention is drawn to her wedding ring which was a common practice by photographers.
I would suggest early 20's.
So a couple born around 1840 +/- 5.

Darn I was hoping it was a little later, in the late 1860's.  If it's the couple I was thinking of, they weren't married until 1871. 

I hadn't noticed the emphasis on the wedding ring.  Thanks for that tidbit!

And, as to their identities, I think he must have been related to (Fess Parker's) Daniel Boone.
