Address in Vancouver ..?
« on: Sunday 08 October 17 21:57 BST (UK) »
Hi

As part of question 6 it asks ever lived in Canada? Address....  can anyone decipher please.

I think part of it maybe htl, short for hotel, but not coming up with anything for the word before and tried various google attempts for Vancouver hotels.

Thanks

It's not right but I want to say Georgina - anything starting with Geo that makes sense?  :-\
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

Instead of Htl. for Hotel, I think it might be Nth. for North (Vancouver).

My immediate reaction was Grosvenor Hotel which does come up on Google , but I may be wrong .

I agree that it says "Grosvenor Htl." in Vancouver.

You probably couldn't find it in your search of Vancouver hotels, as it was torn down in the early 1980's.

I should have added that I think it is misspelled as "Grovesnor".

I agree with Bookbox that it's Nth. Vanc. for North Vancouver (a separate entity to Vancouver). The N is very similar in style to the M in March down the RH side.

The first word might be Grosvenor, but I can't be sure. There's a block called Grosvenor Place Apartments on Lonsdale Avenue, but it's far too modern. One difficulty with searching is that there seems to be a property developer there called Grosvenor, and I haven't managed to find out if there is/was anything else with that name too.
Researching among others:
Bartle, Bilton, Bingley, Campbell, Craven, Emmott, Harcourt, Hirst, Kellet(t), Kennedy,
Meaburn, Mennile/Meynell, Metcalf(e), Palliser, Robinson, Rutter, Shipley, Stow, Wilkinson
