Jane Harker burial Alston
« on: Monday 09 October 17 10:11 BST (UK) »
I've been trying to find the date of death or the burial records for my 4th Great grandmother Jane Harker.  Jane was born in Alston in 1752.  She married John Gill in Alston in 1772 and they had nine children.  All of them were born in Alston.  The last child to be born was Hannah Gill in 1792.  Jane is not listed in the free BMD so her date of death is likely to be between 1792 and 1837.  I'd be grateful if anyone can help with this.

On FreeREG there is a burial for a Jane Gill in 1806 aged 51 years, and also another Jane Gill aged 17 years of Alston, so probably a relative. The 17 year old was buried at St Augustine of Canterbury church and is recorded in the Archdeacon's Transcripts. burial 6th October 1826.
regards.

Thank you.  I'll have a look at that.

I had a look at the records but the 51 year old Jane Gill was unmarried and she was buried 45 miles from Alston in Holm Cultram so I don't think it's the one I'm looking for.  I bet the other poor girl who died aged 17 was related.
