Massey

John Peter Massey my father,  was born in September 1910 in Vancouver or Kelowna. Also his brother 1909 and sister, 1912. Their father Hugh Alexander was an Insurance Agent working in Vancouver.
Is there any way I can find their birth information without having to pay 50 dollars for each certificate?I would be so grateful for any suggestions.

Births only go up to 1903

Familysearch is the same unfortunately.

The family left Canada in 1914 at the outbreak of w.war 1 & returned to England.

1911 census they are in Vancouver.  It just says BC for the boys' place of birth.  Has the birth months...

Leah - Nov 1884
Hugh - July 1910 (must mean to say 1909!!)

Are you looking for full dates of birth... or do you have those?  Is it location that is of primary interest (Vancouver or Kelowna)?

Using the information you provided and the information on the Canadian 1911 census, I can see a John Peter Massey born in that year/month on the 1939 register.  This might be your father.  If you need his full birthdate, you can look there.  (Sorry - I am not allowed to do a 1939 register look up for you)

I see the Hugh Alexander died in WW1... was Royal Navy.   

Sometimes military records show birth information for children.

If you have access to findmypast...there is a record set called  "Royal Naval Division 1914-1918 Transcription" .  On Hugh Alexander's record, it says that the children were born in Kelowna.  I am not entirely sure where they got their information from.

Looking at the other military records on findmypast for Hugh Alexander, I don't see any that list his children in the actual record.  Though, the records are not as complete as many I have seen. 

Looks like his military files are at the National Archives.  I wonder if the children's births would be recorded in any of these

But, if they are the same as the ones on findmypast... there isn't a lot of information there.  I wonder where that Royal Naval Division Transcription record set got their information about the children.  They say it is from records...wonder where those records are??
