I would be very grateful for help with this first name please. The surname is Faulkner and the writing would date to about 1840.

Louisa?

If you can add a source reference or a bit more of the scan it would consolidate opinions.
All census look up transcriptions are Crown Copyright http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/

Thanks. A larger scan wonít help but context might. It is a signature pasted into a scrapbook belonging to Emma Faulkner, Sunderland, 1837.

Lavinia looks possible -  I can see both iís dotted now.

I am most interested in the Falconer /Faulconer /Fawkner name and other similar names particularly in Sussex so more information would really help.
