Ann Knowles - Marriage Certificate - Liverpool
« on: Saturday 21 October 17 16:10 BST (UK) »
Hi all,

Can anybody check the marriage cert for Ann Knowles to Thomas Aldridge . They were married at St Nicholas Church on 21 Jan 1834 and I can see the record on LOPC but wondered if on the actual certificate if it named her father?

Many thanks

Civil registration didn't start until 1837,so all you'll get on anything before that are a couple of witnesses,no parents name, ages ,or professions.

Children of Thomas Aldridge and Ann, Elizabeth, John, James, Thomas and Margaret

you have 2  possible Ann's what are the names of the parents and siblings of those two, is there a naming pattern in the families you have researched
Gunning County Down,Kneale Isle of Man,Riddle Tynemouth,Bibby Kendal/Bradford,Colenso Penzance/Barrow-in-Furness,Steele Corney Fell,Chapman Ely,Dawes Alfreton,Blamire Westmoreland and Ulverston

Hi Radcliff & others,

After a break from research I am now back on it.

Thomas Aldridge's parents are John and Elizabeth.

I have 2 options for Ann Knowles either James & Mary or William & Ann. On her census info she always put down "Kirkdale" as place of birth rather than Liverpool or Lancs so I was hoping that would help but to date I am still confused.

I have her children as being John/James/Ann/Thomas/Henry/Amelia/William.

Thanks

See earlier thread  http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=770557.0 for my thoughts on clues from the naming convention in this case

Thanks Shaun J for the clues. I just get confused when there are so many Knowles families around! I reckon her parents should be James & Mary Knowles & will update my tree.

Even worse as I now have to start on the Jones' side of the family   ;)
