Royal Masonic School for Boys, Bushey
« on: Tuesday 24 October 17 23:26 BST (UK) »
Hi. I am trying to track down details of the teaching staff at the Royal masonic school in 1936. I am interested in David D Kennedy who was a teacher there. I have found this out on a shipping document when he was travelling from New York to Southampton on the Queen Mary but it doesn't give any other details than that the school was his address and he was a teacher there.
Please does anyone know if there is an archive so that I can find out more about him, he is elusive and this is the first time i have got any concrete details about him.
Thanks
Alison

Hi,  it may be an idea to try Bushey Museum. I know that there is a volunteer there with a particular interest in family history. Hertford archives and local studies may be able to help you also.  Good luck with your research.

The records are at the Freemasons’ Library in London, which offers a research service.

Here's the catalogue entry for the school's staff records ...

There's a Teachers Registration Council register page for David Dobbin Kennedy. MA Cambridge. Naval and military service 1915-1920. Assistant master at Royal Masonic from 1920.

Thankyou BGoodman, Bookbox and ShaunJ this is brilliant stuff!

I had no idea that there was a Bushey library so thank you and I will contact the masonic records to see what they can tell me.
ShaunJ you have given me the answer to a puzzle - his middle name was Dobbin! That ties the family together and proves all sorts of things.

Thank you all so much, I am now on a roll.
