Ann or Annie Onions Born Chester ca 1852
« on: Tuesday 31 October 17 20:03 GMT (UK) »
Trying to locate her whereabouts between censuses 1881 and 1911.
Ann Onions never married and lived to 104 years and died in Chester.
Both her parents died in 1864 aged 38.

Yes that's where I was up to.
The only additional shred of information is that Ann(ie) Onions spent some time in London around 1900 according to a brief article in a newspaper written on her 100th birthday in the 1950s.

Sorry I can’t find Ann(ie) either on 1891 or 1901 census  ???

Just adding this link as it shows two pictures of Annie one reading her telegram, says she died 1952

I assume this would be her death entry

Nope can't find her either  :(

Would there be electoral rolls for London she may have appeared on as a dressmaker around 1900?

Nope can't find her either  :(

I've tried again this morning but nothing  ??? she appears very elusive indeed

Same as everyone else can find her on these censuses I think she appears to be on two 1871 censuses, one as a niece the other as a visitor  :-\

1861 https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M7L7-HKS - parents William & Harriett
1871 https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VBN1-CMT - visitor
1871 https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VBNH-PCR - Niece of Frederick Onions
1881 https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q272-PMHJ - sister of Samuel
1891?
1901?
1911 https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XW36-62V - living Chester

Would there be electoral rolls for London she may have appeared on as a dressmaker around 1900?

Do you know of any known family in the London area that she may have stayed with or visited?

There are plenty of 'Onions' to be found in the London area on London, England, Electoral Registers, 1832-1965 in 1900's. There are some Annie Onions appearing but from 1919

One of Ann(ie)'s Cestrian descendants I have spoken to thought that Ann(ie) worked in some capacity for Queen Victoria.
I am a bit hesitant to mention this in case it is a red herring but given the present impasse over 1891 &1901 could there be something in this???
