Hi all,

I have James Gray c.1811 in Coldstream.  His father was William Gray.  Would anybody please be able to find a christening for James, marriage for his parents and more siblings?

The only one I can see is
James Gray s of William Gray and Janet Moffat 30/11/1810 at Ecccles.

It looks like their only child and there is another William Gray and his wife Hannah Henry at Coldstream but no sign of a son James.

Was James Wife called Mary

if so the 1841-1861 census' would suggest that his parent were William and Hannah, but there is two marriages - one to a Hannah Henry and one to a Hannah King around the start of the 1800's both in the eccles area  - hannah king marriage is in the OPR and Hannah Henry only shows up as a mother of OPR births

the records are very sketch around that time - not all records in the Scottish Borders are available, due to loss or damage around that time, plus the split of the church did effect the area as many were non-conformists.

did find a william living at whitsome in 1841 - wife not in house at time and a widow Hannah in Swinton 1851
