Aldridge / Constable marriage and Aldridge children with mother's maiden name Constable all on Freebmd.

I found 1901 census on FindMyPast, but a free transcription should be available on Familysearch as well

You really need the 1923 marriage cert to ensure we are on the right track. Ideally, the marriage cert will identify Robert's father - but there's no guarantee. Nonetheless, the family identified to date looks good.

The 1901 Census (previously identified) has James J. Aldridge, 21 Shadwell Street as a Coal Carter. This is quite different to the 1911 census details - again cannot post details (policy/terms/conditions).

However, there are a couple of newspaper items Jun/Aug 1906 about a James John Aldridge in the milk trade. One item gives his address as 21 Shadwell Street and young Robert James has an interesting court appearance.
