Sarah Ribbons bapt. 1821 Rushmere St.Andrew
« on: Saturday 11 November 17 01:36 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,

I have a Sarah Ribbons bapt 1821 in Rushmere and from the IGI it says she was the d/o James & Mary Anne. Would anyone be able to see if the register has anymore info such as mother's maiden name, please?

Also - I believe Sarah had a daughter Hannah about 1845, possibly in the same parish. If there is any further info such as name of father etc, I would be most grateful.

I have looked on F/S, Anc..y

Thanks for any help.

Again, it is a transcription of the entry - from Suffolk Family History Society - the only additional information on Sarah's baptism entry is that James is a Labourer, and the surname is entered as Ribbans.

I can't see a baptism for Hannah - registered March quarter 1846 (Ribbons).
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!
If you don't ask the question, you won't get an answer.

Hi BumbleB,

Many thanks for your help. Ribbans/Ribbons + other variants is a problem  in working out who's who.

Regarding Hannah -  I have her aged 5 in the 1851 census for Ipswich St.Helens alongside Sarah aged 30 unmarried as the d/o of James & Mary A. (Hannah's birth is regis. mar ¼ 1846 Ipswich dist. (Vol; 12, Page; 365- name Ribbans)
