Just been researching family (distant cousin) and found out about a training flight where all crewman were killed on 4th March 1945. The Lancaster was on a cross country training flight from North Luffenham and was landing back at the airfield when things went badly wrong. The aircraft seems to have bounced badly whereupon the pilot pulled it back into the air, but it suffered a scrape and crashed into trees.

My question is would his family have received any kind of posthumous medal or recognition of this accidental death ?
