Further to my last post i have found baptisms in Kingsley for George, Hannah, Anne Eliza and Sarah, all under the name Wheawall, but more interestingly Mary A and Dorothy are entered in the register as Wheawall or Weaver.

Hi,
Would this be the marriage?
1848
WHEAWALL   Samuel   LOCKETT   Sarah   Kingsley, St Werburgh   Newcastle-Under-Lyme

WHEAWALL    Samuel        Cheadle    17   65

This connects the names....but why change surname to Weaver?

That looks to be the one as suggested at reply #26
Only you can decide , given all the evidence presented if it is the "right" marriage.

Hello, A huge thanks to all who have read & replied to my post. Once again they have gone above and beyond to help someone, namely me, locate family ancestors. Through asking the question I have found another site to assist [www.gro.gov.uk], but more importantly information to help me move forward with family research. My Weaver, Wheawall, Weavell, Locket, Lockitt and Lockett ancestors can now be researched further and added to the family tree. Many thanks to one and all for your time and investigations, regards, Mel C

Samuel Wheawall/Sarah Lockett are in lots of trees on Ancestry, and possibly a new spelling/name - Whywall.

Finally found correct family in Caverswall, Staffs.
Joseph Wheawall m Ellen Carr 1843 Dilhorne.
Surname changed to Weaver [no idea why!!] around 1850's.
Thanks to All.
