William Frederick Handley

I am looking into another Handley.
I have records of birth and census up to 1891 for William Frederick Handley born 1870 in st Stephens, Birmingham. Parents Joseph Handley 1834 and Maria Edge born 1834.
But after this I am having problems finding him after this although his siblings Bertram and Nelly turn up on the 1901 census ,Boardsley Birmingham with their father.
His job in 1891 seems to be Gun machinist.
Any help would be greatly appreciated .

I am confused as to your dates.  You say you have birth (etc) records showing him born as William Frederick Handley in 1870, but Joseph and Maria Handley's children in 1881 are as follows:

Joseph H 14
Nelly 9
William 6 <<<
Bertram 2

This is consistent with their ages in the 1891 you already have, when William is 16: RG12/2390/14/28

Joseph Henry Handley mmn Edge, Sep qtr 1866 Birmingham
Nelly Handley mmn Edge, Jun qtr 1871 Aston
Tom Handley mmn Edge, Mar qtr 1874 Aston (died same quarter aged 0)

What is the source for his using Frederick as a middle name?  He is just William in 1881 and 1891.  Have you ruled out the William Handley born about 1875 who turns up in 1901 and later as a baker, married to Nellie?  Other than a career change he seems a good fit.

Ah yes I think I have got the date wrong. I will look at that other William Handley.
