Mile End Cemetery Portsea Burial Records
« on: Thursday 23 November 17 19:56 GMT (UK) »
I'm looking for the burial records for Thomas Lyne who died 05 Aug 1855 and was buried on 12 Aug 1855 at the Mile End Cemetery Portsea, I'm hoping that the records might give Thomas' birth date. If anyone can help I'd be most grateful

Welcome to RootsChat  :)

The records are held by the Portsmouth History Centre :

https://www.portsmouth.gov.uk/ext/libraries/portsmouth-history-centre-and-records-office

From my experience, these burial records only give the age at death (as reported to the authorities), but no date of birth.

Was Thomas born in Portsea?

Thanks Nell
Thomas was born in London , at the time of his death he was quarter master on HMS Victory, he was a navy man. His grand son was Rear Admiral Sir Thomas John Spence Lyne if that helps.

Hi,

This seems to be the parish record for his burial,

Unfortunately it doesn't give a DOB.
