Wimborne Rd Cemetery, Bournemouth - photo request
« on: Friday 24 November 17 21:31 GMT (UK) »
Hello, does anyone live near Wimborne Rd Cemetery. If you do I would be very interested if someone is able to locate and take a picture of my 3rd great-grandfathers grave - John Smith (1896)and his wife (1889).

I know they are both buried in grave
S4/76S which is located in plot 4S on south side of cemetery near the road through cemetery.

Many thanks
Ed

Hi Ed

Have you established with the cemetery office that a headstone exists on the plot?

Sorry, in message from cemetery they couldn't confirm definitely whether there was a headstone or not. However, knowing that there is a probate record etc I think there is a very good chance there is a headstone, although obviously don't know it's condition.

Not sure if anyone near Wimborne Rd Cemetery has seen this request. Would be great to see headstone if possible.

In case anyone visits this cemetery do you have a plan showing the location of the grave   :-\

Have you contacted the local family history society to see whether they have transcribed M.I's

The list of transcribed MIs collected by Dorset FHS:

It might be worth emailing to ask if Wimborne Road is 'work-in-progress' or if a member lives nearby and would be able to take a photograph.
