Hi Kim

Jane and William JACKSON did come to live in New Zealand, although I can't be precise with a timeframe.

They are buried together at Hillsborough Cemetery in Auckland > details at following link.

http://www.aucklandcity.govt.nz/dbtw-wpd/exec/dbtwpub.dll

Edited :  Above connection is apparently now redundant.    Please refer to the amended link provided at Reply # 20

Search on JACKSON - Jennie*  :   See Return  [1 of 1 ]  - died April 1927

Search on JACKSON - William :   See Returns [5 of 9 ] and [6  of  9 ] - died 1936

[[Note:   * I remember seeing on the Marriage record for William (Lithgow) JACKSON (1912) that his mother's name was recorded as "Jennie".  This in turn connected with  the "Jennie" death at Auckland - although "age at death" may be somewhat out ?    Had also spotted an electoral entry > 1928 at Auckland > which had been transcribed as "JACKSON - Jane Lithg ?? "  (the 1925 entry was correct with "Jane Lithgow ... " ).  ]]

Death Notice for William JACKSON (senior) :

http://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/newspapers/NZH19360622.2.2.4

... died at the residence of his son (name not given) of 31 Hillsborough Road ...

(Sourced from 1938 electoral roll for Roskill, Auckland) -  this proved to be the home of a James JACKSON and his wife, Ethel Caroline.

William senior was listed as a Market Gardener in 1912 (William junior's marriage cert.).  He was v. hard to find on electoral rolls as he was not always at the same home as his wife Jane (Jennie)... rather he seemed to be listed at a son's address ?   His later occupation was that of "painter".

Burial records note that there was no headstone at Hillsborough for Jennie and William.  Also I didn't find a Probate record for either of them.
--------

And so we return to Elizabeth JACKSON;D
Sorry, had a few possibles earmarked here in NZ, but alas they eventually proved to be "not the right person".

Mmm .. this seems to be the one which comes up at NZ BDM as *age 86" years with date of death (as deduced from that index) being 24 November 1917  ???  [ Born c. 1831  ? ]

The Elizabeth JACKSON in my post above is possibly the person at the Sacred Heart Home, in the (unpurged?) 1919 electoral roll for Dunedin Central.

In the DCC record, Lu, it says died 21st November, "Native of GB." A lady of contradictions....
