John William Tiplady b 11.07.1890
« on: Sunday 03 December 17 21:19 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone,
I’m trying to find a photo of my great grandfather to show my elderly Grandad. His dad John William Tiplady (jack) died when he was only a young boy and he can’t remember what he looked like. I’ve made it my mission to try and find one for him and i’m Hitting brick walls.

He was born in Luton in 1890 to a John Tiplady & Sarah wiseman. He was in the army and was married twice, the 2nd marriage a charge of bigamy and found a newspaper article giving names of wives and further children.
Apparently he was a boxer called young draper and I have tried finding pics of that including contacting boxing historian miles templeton but still have had no luck finding any pics.

He moved up north to hartlepool and lived in a caravan with his third spouse (Mgt Daley) and had more children including my Grandad. None of family in hartlepool have any photos.

Just wondered if anyone had any other ideas of where I might find a photo? Would the the army of taken one?

I’ve thought about trying to trace descendants of his first wife as my last hope.

Any advice would be wonderful

Check online trees for the family to see if anyone has added a photo.
