Elvy, Gladys Marion
« on: Wednesday 06 December 17 01:47 GMT (UK) »
Trying to find out when Gladys Marion Elvy emigrated from New Zealand to Australia.

She was born in Christchurch on 26/8/1892 and died in Australia in 1974.

She married James Arthur McKenzie on 16/11/1912 at St. Barnabas Church of England, George St. Sydney, NSW.

So I assume that she came over sometime between 1892 and 1912.

Her parents were Harold Nelson Elvy and Jane Susan Elvy (Merrick).

If I've posted in wrong place apologies and please move to right place.

Thanks

Matt
Borlands from Scotland, Hiltons from England & Platts from England at this stage. Have others to look for as well at some stage :)

Hi Matt,

I think it might be best to move your enquiry across to the Australia Board. There's likely to be some answers there.

Regarding the 1912 marriage in NSW.
I assume you have a transcript of that certificate.
(I have not read all your previous threads completely)

Would you kindly type up the information given in each and all of the columns. Please omit nothing.

Information which seems unimportant to some can be a research clue to others.

Yes, it would be very helpful for a full transcription of that 1912 marriage.   I see that Ancestry has uploaded many of the C of E records for the Sydney NSW diocese, however they do not seem to have included St Barnabas (or for that matter several others in the CBD eg Christ Church St Lawrence).
