George Robinson - Tipton

Hi,

I am looking find the maiden name of the above George Robinson's mother.

George married Mary Howard Arnold on 1st June 1879 in Sedgley, & he died 1899 in Dudley.

On the 1861 - 1891 census returns, he is recorded to have been born either in 1855 or 1856 in Tipton.

His father's name was John & his mother's was Harriet.

His siblings were - Ellen (1849), John Thomas (1852), David (1857), William (1860), & James (1864).

On the 1871 census on there is an entry on the next page to John and Harriet of John Rubbatham who is shown as father in law to Thomas Jukes and his wife Charlotte

I don't know how that translates to Robinson. Maybe one of them had a lisp! As stupid as that sounds.

Possibly this couple married as Thomas Jukes to Charlotte ROBOTHAM June qtr 1863 Dudley 6c 42

It's just confusing isn't it. If in 1871 they are only living a few houses away from each other, why do they have different surnames.

I have found more children for John & Harriet.

It just seems that they pick and choose when to use Robinson and when to use Rubathan.
