William Martin 1818-1852
« on: Monday 11 December 17 14:29 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for any information on William Martin who was my 2nd great grandfather. I believe he was born in County Wicklow, Ireland and was the son of an Iron Miner, possibly named Patrick Martin. William went to work in Scotland, but was killed in a pit accident in New Monkland, Lanarkshire in 1852. He had a daughter, Margaret, who was my great grandmother. Thanks :)

Hi,

There is this one,

Ireland, Catholic Parish Registers

Parish of Dunlavin, Wicklow
William MARTIN
20 Jun 1819
Parents:  Patrick & Anne
Sponsors:  ?? KELLY,  Mary LYNCH
Abode:  Darnamuck ??  or Dernamucky ??

That's my best transcription of the image :-\

The only other one I've seen is in 1821 to parents Thomas and Catherine.

Ooh I've just found that you can see it here free :)

This website seems to show only two William MARTINs baptised 1818  +/-5years in Wicklow, but I'm not a member so I can't see them.
