Thomas Atkinson and Margaret Crawford , Co. Monaghan.

Hi!
I am  researching Thomas Atkinson and Margaret Crawford who emigrated from County Monaghan to New Zealand in 1874. Thomas' parents were Joseph Crawford and Rebecca Atkinson, both born in Ireland also. Margaret was born a Crawford, I was told that her husband Thomas was a cousin. Her parents were Joseph Crawford and Margaret Dunlop (born in Scotland). Joseph Crawford's parents were Thomas Crawford and Phoebe Toppin, I'm wondering whether anyone has any tips on tracing this line further back?

But if I am correct you  mean that Thomas' name was Thomas Atkinson CRAWFORD

Also did Thomas and Margaret marry in Ireland or New Zealand?

Sorry for the confusing info... Thomas' full name is Thomas Atkinson Crawford (his second name is his mother's surname).
