I've removed her name.

Canada has quite strict data protection and closed access policies.

A recent marriage won't be found online unless there's a newspaper report somewhere.

That's fine - apologies if I breached guidelines.  There's a lot of genealogical info on canadiana.ca. I'm just trying to find the link between the Hull family & my family as there is a strong DNA link, but no family history forthcoming from the Canadian side - so frustration!

Thanks for your help.

Short obituary for the mother of Norman appeared in the Ottawa Journal on 23 March 1963:

Windsor, Ontario -- Mrs. Alice Hull, 73, mother of Frank A. Hull of Hull-Thompson Ltd. and Norman Hull, managing editor of the Windsor Star.

Finally found Norman and Frank travelling with their mother, Alice, returning from a trip to England in  November 1923. They were all travelling home to Thomas Hull (Alice's husband and the boys' father) at 726 Giles Blvd. E., in Windsor, Ontario.

Norman is 8 years of age, so born in about 1915. Frank is noted as being 9 1/2 years of age.   They had all lived previously in Winnipeg. Alice had first arrived in Canada in 1913.   They had arrived in England in July 1923 bound for 112 Hardwicks Street, Rochdale.

Thomas' WWI attestation paper gives his address as Lansdowne Avenue, Winnipeg, and his wife's name as Alice.  He had been born in Blackburn, England on 26 October 1885 and he was a bricklayer by trade.  The papers were signed March 31, 1916 in Winnipeg.

Thomas Hull, born October 26, 1885, died in Windsor on January 2, 1945, the husband of Alice (nee Gibbons), and the son of Thomas Hull (mother's name unknown).  He is buried at Windsor Grove Cemetery in Windsor. He was a brick mason by trade. Informant was his son, Frank, of Chilver Road, Windsor.  He had been in Canada since 1909.
