MARRIAGE LOOKUP REQUEST

Given that Robert and his father were in the newspaper business......

I have found a marriage 07 Sep 1935 for a Norman William Hull to a Margaret Dodds Leggat, not Weir. Margaret is down as a spinster. Norman is a Reporter living in Windsor Ontario, birthplace Winnipeg, parents Thomas Hull and Alice Gibbons. Marriage took place in Windsor.

Anyway, food for thought.

Many thanks for this.  With the help of you kind people, I've been tracking the Hull - Houseman - Burns side back to Lancashire - but I can't see any link at all.  I will need to look at other branches, I think, and hope that they track back to England.  Frustrating - but most grateful for the input.  J.

Forgot to mention that Margaret Leggat's parents were Andrew Leggat and Margaret Dodds. Margaret has Calgary down as her birthplace. Both are down as age 21.

Many thanks for this, PolarBear - I've tracked the Hull family back to Lancashire, which isn't a useful direction, so I'm going to need to trace other lines. This is a great start.  Much appreciated. J.

Just to update you helpful people - I have tracked the Hull male line back to Liverpool and Towcester 1650 or so - only one name in common - Caporn in Towcester, but no link.
I think my link must be through one of the Hull female lines - Margaret Dodds Leggatt (parents Andrew Leggatt & Margaret Dodd) or Thelma Joan Lane (1931 - 2008) can't find her parents, but she left Montréal, Québec, Canada on the "Empress of England", arr Liverpool 7 May 1958 - so presumably has English connections.
No entry under FreeBMD for 1931 (though another Thelma Joan Lane b 1922 - bizarre!)
I'm afraid I can't find much out about either of these - but I have a large tree for the rest of the family!
Any suggestions on the Canadian side most welcome.  Thanks
