On Emily's marriage record - 1919 in Camberwell - her Father's name is George Thomas Jervis?

she's on 1901 as Emily Garvis (on Ancestry) living in west ham with parents George T and Mary A. Still at home in 1911

Thank you but I'm certain that's not her. My Emily was born in St Saviour Southwark rather than West Ham and was 2 years younger.

On the 1891 census there is a Mary Gervis age 12, she is there as age 2 in 1881 with:

James Jervis   37
Maria Jervis   29
James H. Jervis   15
John T. Jervis   14
Charlotte Jervis   12
William Jervis   11
Mary E. Jervis   2
Henry Jervis   1

so James has been married before, as James H Jervis has mmn Ford.

I agree that's not her - mother's maiden name is Maidman

My hunch is that the aunt would be a sister of her mother Maria but I can't find Emily with any of them. One sister was called Priscilla (misspelt as all sorts on different records but I can't find her in 1901 or 1911.)

Priscilla may be called Sarah on 1901 - she's married to a Francis Stanyard in 1891 and he's with wife Sarah the right age b Staines. That sarah appears to die in 1908. No emily with them - and no rich aunt, as Francis is a labourer

Do you know what happened to Mary E Jervis (1878)?

Thank you! I was searching under Stangard and Langard for her

She's with Fred and Maria in 1891 but can't find her after that. I did wonder whether as Emily's half sister she could be the "aunt"

I am desperately trying to find my gt grandmother Emily Elizabeth Jervis on both the 1901 and 1911 censuses.

I have her birth certificate

Is this a birth certificate that has been passed down through the family or have you purchased it?  I am just wondering how you know that your Emily was born at St Saviour if you can't find her in 1901 or 1911.
