Woodhorn Family History Library Lookup
« on: Wednesday 20 December 17 16:26 GMT (UK) »
Hoping someone would be able to do a marriage lookup at Woodhorn (near Ashlington in Northumberland).  I am searching for a parish marriage record from 1828 at All Saints Church in Newcastle.  If so, please contact me.
Much appreciated !
Thanks,
Patty

Details of requested record are:
John Scott born Oct. 1801 in Wallsend Northumberland, married Frances Moor born 1799 in Earsdon, Northumberland at All Saints Church in Newcastle on August 2, 1828.  I have Frances parents as Thomas Moor and Margaret Blakey.  Am looking for the parents of John Scott.

Thank you!

Parents names weren't included in marriage records at this time, sadly. They were only included on marriage certificates after 1837 when Civil registration began.

Oh no!   Well that creates a problem.  Thanks for that information.  Much appreciated.  Back to the drawing board.

I do have them on all on the census.  1841, 1851, 1861, and John died 1870 as Frances is a widow in 1871.  John Scott is such a common name, it has been difficult to find his exact parents.

Here's the marriage from the Bishops Transcripts
http://www.rootschat.com/links/01l6q/

The witnesses are no help, they are Jos(iah) Pearson and William Dixon who appear frequently in the register - they are probably Churchwardens or other church officials pulled in to witness the ceremony
