Hi there,
I have just looked to see if he came to Australia, as did many ex army men. But I can't see him.

Was just a thought

Hi All

Reply from scotlandspeople.

Dear Bruce,
Thank you for your contacting ScotlandsPeople.
I did manage to find the entry but Daniel is shortened to Danl on the record but they have indexed it under Davd. See attached image, CAMPBELL DAVD 60 M 644-01 206- 021 Glasgow
We will endeavour to rectify the entry as soon as we are able, although for technical reasons it may be some time before any changes made to the database here at New Register House are reflected on the website itself. In the meantime and thank you for letting us know.
Kind regards,
Karen

Just out of curiosity, how was Archibald indexed?
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
