Looking for James Dunbar

Parents were

John Dunbar

1797–1851(death date approximate) Likely in Canada

Margaret Bain

1798–3 JAN 1890  Wroxeter, Huron County, Ontario, Canada

We see James in Brantford, ON in the 1861 census, single and occupation given as Mason.  However, there seem to have been two Dunbar families in that area at the same time.

Have been unable to find a marriage or death or anything definitive in later census documents.  We know at least one sibling, Margaret 1836-1918 moved to Michigan.

Further digging found the 1861 Canada Census lists him as married but no spouse listed.  His is with family and George Barnard, a Turner, who married James' sister Isabella Dunbar 1833-1917.

We recently found (thanks to this forum) his brother George went to Michigan and then onward to Oregon and Washington.  Now wondering if any others went along but no luck with finding James or bothers:

William b 1828 Scotland,   Listed as a mason in 1851 and then labourer in 1861.  Other researchers have him in US but no supporting documents.  There is a marriage for a Mary Dunbar, born about 1875 in Brantford with parents William Dunbar and Sarah E Rix.  However, cannot find a marriage for William to Sarah.  William is listed as a farmer on that marriage document.  Religion is Baptist and the was Church of England on census

Alexander b 1830 Scotland Listed as carpenter in 1851 and then Head Wagonmaker in 1861  An Alexander is in Southampton, Ontario in 1881 and married with several children.  Oldest is 20 so son born 1861.  No marriage for a spouse Alspet and he was unmarried in 1861 census

All were in Brantford, Ontario area in 1851 and 1861 Census.

The death cert for Mary indicates she was born in PEI and that her parents, William Dunbar and Sarah Rix were also born in PEI. This suggests that William and Sarah may have married there. The image of the record is available on Ancestry and should also be available on familysearch.

Mary's birthdate is given as 17 Nov 1875 on the death record. Death date 16 Feb 1947, in Hamilton Ontario.

Can't make a connection to William and Sarah Rix.

Possible a branch I have yet to discover.
