Bonjour!

The A Pascoe who was awarded the Military Medal was 69432 Alfred Pascoe.  The London Gazette tells us he came from Freshwater on the Isle of Wight.  Perhaps you have seen this:
https://sites.google.com/site/landships/home/narratives/1917/cambrainarratives/f-battalion-21-november-1917

The only record of his service that has survived is his medal card which can be downloaded from the National Archives http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D4539944.  It tells us only that he served overseas after the end of 1915.  (60-70% of WW1 records were destroyed in bombing in WW2).

The war diary of the brigade can be downloaded at http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/browse/r/h/C14054494

The war diary of the battalion is at http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/12911270ace24644a46a22b89c886ea3

For personal information, you could try the Hampshire thread to find if anyone knows the family on the Isle of Wight.

Thank you very much Max D. for all these informations. It's very interesting !

I'd like also obtain the same infomations for two other mens of Tank Corps :
- the Gunner W TEBAULT (ou TEBBUTT) from Kenilworth (Lancashire) ans
-the Gunner W T DOLLEY from Guildford (Surrey).

Than you Kathy and Max,

All the informations (militar and civil) about A. Pascoe, W Tebbutt and WT Dolley interest me, because for the centenary of The battle of Cambrai I would wish find the photo of these three mens who obtain the MM in my village of Les Rues des VIgnes (Crèvecoeur) and know the eventual descendants of these people; Thank you for your help.

Walter Tebbutt was Acting Sergeant no. 201747. He first went to France on 9/3/1915 with the 5th. Brigade Royal Field Artillery.
As with your other man his records didn't survive the Blitz.
The information you gave isn't quite correct, Kenilworth is in Warwickshire (Midlands) & Lancashire is in N.W. England.
I can't see a Walter Tebbutt in Lancashire but there is a Walter Tebbutt working in the motor trade in Coventry before the war. Coventry is about 6mls. (8 Km.) from Kenilworth.
He married in 1916 & had 3 children, 1 daughter & 2 sons.
He is listed in the London Gazette on 15/3/1918 & it states he was from Kenilworth.

W.T. Dolley was Thomas William Dolley Cpl. no. 69619.
He married in 1916 & had 2 children, a girl & a boy.
He was listed in the London Gazette on 15/3/1918 as W.T.Dolley & it states he was no. 69619 & from Guildford Surrey.
I don't know if you've seen this map from Nov. 1917.
It shows Les Rues des Vignes (M4) with the German trenches (red) to the East & South of the village.

Hi Jim, thank you for your correction. You are certainly right. Could you give me the name of Walter TEBBUTT's wife and children ?

Dolley was 61619 Gunner WT Dolley Tank Corps, awarded MM in the March 1918 list.  His place of residence is given as Guildford in Surrey.

So we now know where the records say the three men came from:
Pascoe:  Freshwater Isle of Wight
Dolley - Guildford Surrey
Tebbutt - Kenilworth Warwickshire

Unfortunately, as we have found, their detailed service records have not survived as far as we can tell.

The MM records say they all belonged to F Battalion (6 Battalion) Tank Corps.

I would suggest :

Contacting the Tank Museum http://tankmuseum.org/schools-and-research.  They do not have personal service records but they may have more information.

Posting on the Hampshire, and Surrey and Warwickshire asking for any information on the families of the three men (although Rootschat does not support finding living relatives so it has to be dne privately).

Write to the editors of the local newspapers explaining your project:
https://www.islandecho.co.uk
http://www.guildford-dragon.com/
https://www.kenilworthweeklynews.co.uk/

Facebook in the areas they came fro??  Perhaps a FB expert could say how best to go about this?

J'espère que cela aidera.  Bonne chance.
