Have you tried to contact the Carlisle Archive Centre to see if there are any documents about patient records for the  Blencathra Sanitorium.

Reading an old thread ................

Some records of the Blencathra Sanatorium are at Carlisle Archives.

T/HOS/10/4  Six vols admissions registers 1904-1958 (continuous)
T/HOS/10/7  Case Files 1904-1915
T/HOS/10/8  Visitors Book 1904-1939

RootsChatter clearly also commented - Just to tidy up this posting for those who have read the foregoing. Blencathra records are virtually untouched in Carlisle archives -- still thick with soot from before their deposition.

There is a good chance that as he was in there 1920/25 his records will not be available.  They are often subject to 100yr closure.

You could always send clearly a pm to see if he could help you - he often goes to the Carlisle records office and has been brilliant helping people out in the past.

Nearly all health records at Carlisle Archive Centre come under the 100-year disclosure ban. I think this is a government ruling but I stand to be corrected.

Thanks for that reply.Could be why the records office was so cagey when I asked them to look, but I understood that near relatives could get permission to see the details.
