There is a reference to a baker's wife (with children and an absent baker).

There is a reference to a "well" on various old maps.
(nearer the front of the plot on the avenue farm side)


Using the "leftover" heat from an oven is/was common practice in 'Erts.
( Don't know about anywhere else )

My own experience of that process is to use the heat to cook "Sunday Roast Beef"
Superb!

You then tend to ignore/forget that the ovens were used to cremate live-stock.
