Short Service Attestation - John Armstrong Scott

Hi I am looking for some help and guidance

I am searching for information on a John Armstrong Scott who was born
in St Pancras in 1880. His father David Scott came from Perth, Scotland

I have come across a Short Service Attestation dated 16th December 1897
This appears to relate to him enlisting in either the Royal Scots Greys or Dragoons of the Line

I can not find any other informaton whatsoever ideally I would like to know
Where he served?
How long he served for?
and find his Service Record?
