Dear Friends,
would highly appreciate any info on the most famous Lancashire Runner - Siah Albison of Bowlee, Middleton. He was a one-mile champion in the 1860's.

If you have access to FindMyPast there are numerous newspaper articles on Siah Albison/Albeson.

Are you looking for info on his family line or details as a runner?

The birth of Siah "Allbeson" was registered  in Manchester June quarter, 1840. Mother's maiden name Bamford.

In 1841 he was with his parents (presumably), Jacob and Mary, with siblings, living in Prestwich. Recorded under the name of Albinson.

In 1877 and 1879 he is in the UK, City and County Directories, 1766 - 1946 at the Three Crowns 502 Oldham Road Newton Heath.
In the 1881 census he is at 317 Oldham Road, age 40, married and a beer seller but there is no wife or family at the same address

Siah's first wife Elizabeth (nee Aldred) possible death q1 1882

He remarried in 1883 to Eliza Warren.

Siah's wife on the 1881 is living at 344 Oldham Road with their son Albert (13)

thanks to everyone for the feedback, very helpful info, appreciate, I found a lot of his competitive results on BritishNewspaperArchives. Trying to get any of his images/photos. Any ideas?
