Ann BRIGHTMORE - 1777 two marriages in Bakewell
« on: Sunday 31 December 17 18:32 GMT (UK) »
Happy New Year Derbyshire.

I'm a bit stuck with Ann BRIGHTMORE, my 5 x gt gran.  I know a lady of that name married Samuel BOND 14 Jul 1777 at Bakewell after Banns, both said to be from Rowland. Genuki told me that Rowland has never had a church of it's own.  I have taken this lady's baptism to be the one at Baslow 17 Oct 1756, dau of Michael and Ann Brightmore.  There is another Ann Brightmore baptised at Baslow 5 Aug 1755 to James and Elizabeth, but she was buried there in 1756.
So far so good.  Now I find that an Ann BRIGHTMORE married Richard NOTON at Bakewell 27 Nov 1777, both single and said to be from Baslow.  Public trees which appear to be copied from one another have Ann the daughter of Michael marrying Richard NOTON.
I think I'm right but wonder if anyone can help please, either finding another spare Ann, or proving which one married my Samuel BOND.

Thanks for looking.  NC.

Thanks.  I have seen the marriages on Freereg, and also on a pay site where the actual register pages are viewable.  I did wonder about the significance of the 1745 marriage of Noton and Brightmore.

Any thoughts on a spare Ann?
