My maternal grandparents ( Georgina Charters = John Charles Wyatt settled Buchan Victoria. They were proprietors of Riverview Inn.
Her grandparents Hendy , great grand parents Long.

Seems GFL chasing  business  in that area as agent for Mutual Life Association leading to insolvency later that year.

This confirms the family connection.

Thank you Cando.
I am familiar with those reports which relate to my Wyatt grandparents.
I can't help but feel that there was another side to the story.
I am guessing that the nurse must have mouthed off inappropriately and my grandparents were hell bent on protecting their reputation.
No one still alive can give the other side of the story.
From my memory of my grandparents when they were quite elderly , they were a  most upright and respected family. Gentle people. Their honour was the issue.
But I would say that wouldn't I.

My great grandfather (x3) Henry Wilson had three daughters including Rosetta Lavinia who married the above mentioned George Frederick Long, she died in 1913

I think George Frederick Long was a brother of Margaret Maria Long 1830-1893. She married Thomas Hendy.
Thomas and Margaret Hendy reared my grandmother Georgina Ann Charters when their daughter Madeline Sarah Hendy died following the birth of a brother for Georgina.

I don't know much about the Long family as it isn't really part of my line of research.
I do know that George and Rosetta's son Robert Arthur Long was killed at Cape Helles, Gallipoli 8/5/1915. Robert resided at 28 Leamington Crescent, Caulfield, Victoria. Apparently another son served in the Boer War

I don;t know a lot about Long family other than as revealed on this thread.
I knew that Henry the first born of Robert and Rosetta died 1873 an infant at Sandhurst.
Apart from Robert Arthur born 1884 Richmond , they had another son Charles Frederick born 1874. He must be the other son who served in the Boer War.
Can you please add anything to this information?
I note that your 3xgreat grandfather was Henry Wilson.
Did he marry Sarah Browne in Baltimore Maryland USA ?

Margaret Maria (Long) , sister of George married Hendy. They lived at Yarraberb via Sandhurst.

Frederick Charles LONG, an 18 year old Blacksmith from Malvern, Victoria. He enlisted on 17 October 1914; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 15 February 1918..
 
He must have enlisted as Frederick Charles Long and his occupation was “Shoeing Smith”.
