scratching my head on this one

if anyone can pls help, i am trying to figure out how hannah cruikston should have been a relative (i know it says sister in law).  does it make sense to anyone else?  i also cannot find hannah cruikston on any other records and have also tried cruxton and crookston.... any help much appreciated.  Thanks all and happy 2018!

Sister in Law was sometimes used to describe a stepsister (or brother) I've also seen it used to describe a step child... (son in law etc.)

ahhh ok thank you, i just cant find any other record of Cruikston or similar spellings anywhere on the scottish - scotlandspeople or findmypast websites other than that census :-(

The nearest alternative surname I can see is Crookston.
