Amazing what skilled folk can do with Libraries, Newspapers, Cemetery notes and inspiration. Thank you all for such great help. Will check the Nelson Library January 1955 papers when down there in March plus obtain his death certificate in the meantime. Think he dropped Arthur from his name to lessen any confusion with his son born in 1903. When the real picture emerges I will enter the data on Roots Chat. Again grateful thanks. Would be great to know his contribution to the named Wallace Road near Bainham. Barrie.

Seems as if wet weather results in fast replies. Thanks Minniehaha. I had Robert's Obituary.  My wife also reminded me of the cheapest way to purchase a death certificate and she is pleased you back her up. Robert was the sister of my great grandmother Isabella Barrie Smith who married Edward Green of Nelson, hence the interest.  Barrie.
