Welcome to RootsChat! ;D

The surname Kolaj appears to come from Albania?

DNA matches depend on the number of people on the relevant company's database.
I wouldn't think that many Albanians have had their DNA tested, let alone registered on a database :-\

Hi
Sure. My Great grandparents Stefan (he never come back home, apparently died shot by Germans but that just word of mouth)  and Katarzyna Kolaj. Their children
- Michal Kolaj ( my grandpa born 1910? )
Tadeusz Kolaj (1923.09.28  died 2006-10-30 )
Josef Kolaj ( born 3.01.1916 married and lived and died in Uk)
Anna Kolaj,
Jan Kolaj
I dont know if they change their surname during ww2as there is no records of any of the Kolaj family in Poland before that.
My nan married a guy called Stanislaus Plariask in Germany during a war in 1945 when she was in forced labour there. His date of birth is 1910 too so i was just wondering could it be the same person. No one in the family knows anything more like its was all big secret.
Thank you for your help
