« on: Friday 05 January 18 23:00 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for any assistance in locating a marriage between John Gordon & Sarah Moore in Lochwinnoch. Many years ago something showed up on familysearch.org but this is no longer available. Any help much appreciated.

I've just checked the free index from 1805-1815 and there were 107 John Gordon marriages but not a single one to a Sarah

FS is still available - do you mean the entry has disappeared?

Thank you, CaroleW, I have searched Scotlands People but no joy there.   I searched familysearch.org over 10 years ago and there was a record. This now is not shown on Familysearch.org

Did you get Sarah's name from one of their childrens marriage or death certs?

David was 37 when he died so born approx 1817/18.  The only 1851 entry in Lanarkshire was b Dundee and married to Mary.  Is that the right entry?

1851 shows David as 37 b Lochwinnoch Ayrshire which is why I didn't find him earlier.  Son David is shown as 3 but is 15 on the death cert.

He married Isabella in 1835 so I am more inclined to think his 1851 birthyear of 1813/14 is correct rather than his age at death.

Still can't find a parental marriage though.  The only Sarah Moore marriage in Lochwinnoch was 4.6.1823 to John Neiland
