Just found a marriage in the Drouin collection

John Nicol is a witness, not unlike the signature for John Nicol on Walter's baptism looking at the 'N' I think but I would be much happier if someone could have a look too, as this record is Prebyterian

I think Ann* dies the next year (1862). I THINK it says she died at the residence of her father John Nicol,brush maker of McGill? St. She was 20yrs and 8 months?

In 1881 I think the Ann WILSON living with the WARMINTONs just might be her mother :

1841 Scotland census has a John NICOL in Barony Middle Calton with wife M Agnes? and children Mary and Isabella. He's a brush maker which fits.

I don't understand the above.
I think your Walter Steinhoff is not the Walter S Edwards.
Walter S Edwards was born 1861, not married in 1861.
He married Margaret A, not Anna Nicol.
