Hi guys

Joseph Dawson DOB 1901
Stoke on trent

I'm trying to find out what happened to Joseph Dawson after the 1939 census.

I've found him on the 1939 census along with his father henry stanton and mother Eliza.

I know he was born in 1901, but wanting to find out if he married or had children, when did he die and where was he living when he died.

Any help would be brilliant.

Has his mother remarried,  or is father called Henry Stanton Dawson?

1939 was not a census by the way!

As his birth was registered in the first quarter of 1901 he may have been born at the end of 1900. Do you know his DOB?

No clear death or marriage in England.

It looks like Joseph's mother was Thirza - maybe Eliza is a mistranscription on 1939
It seems her name is sometimes Thirza or Thurza but her marriage was transcribed as Theresa

so you can search GRO using Higginson as moither's maiden name and find the correct birth registration which would then help with finding the death

Well there is this marriage which might be his:-

Marriages Dec 1940 
Dawson    Joseph    Durose    Stoke    6b   679   
Durose    Elsie    Dawson    Stoke    6b   679    

Although it just says Stoke this is Stoke on Trent and he is living there in 1939 as you already know.

There are two more marriages one in JQ 1946 to a Hawley and one in JQ 1950 to a Johnson both in Stoke. 

I searched from 1939 to 1960 Stoke only on Free BMD.

Searched births from 1940 to 1960 and found one for the Durose mmn, two for the Hawley mmn and none for the Johnson mmn.
