Dorset Family History Society’s ‘Family History Day’
« on: Tuesday 09 January 18 13:48 GMT (UK) »
Dorset Family History Society will once again be hosting a ‘Family History Day’, this time to mark the 30th Anniversary of the Society.

The hugely popular event will take place at Parkstone Grammar School, Soper’s Lane, Poole, BH17 7EP on Saturday 24th March 2018 from 10am to 4pm. Admission is FREE and car parking in the school grounds is FREE. From previous experience this really is a great day out for all ages interested in tracing their ancestors.

The Guest Speaker will be Nick Barratt who will be giving two talks during the day, £1 a ticket. Nick is the current editor in chief of ‘Your Family History Magazine’ but is more commonly known by his association with the ‘Who Do You Think You Are’ TV programmes.

Attending will be Family History Societies from other counties, organisations involved with genealogy and commercial companies selling aids to research and storage materials. A Help Desk will  assist in family history research, books and DVDs will be on sale, and DFHS volunteers will be available to help with access to the Society’s extensive resources for both Dorset and elsewhere.

For both beginners and experienced researchers alike this is an ideal event to visit. The venue is easily accessible and refreshments will be on sale throughout the day. More information will be posted on  www.dorsetfhs.org.uk as details are confirmed. Also look at our Facebook page for updates.
