Moore from Drumbarley and Drumrawn
« on: Wednesday 10 January 18 22:48 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

I am trying to find info on Moore's from around the Drumquin area; Drumbarley and Drumrawn.
I have a Arthur Moore 1837-1919, Drumbarley.
His father was John Moore.
He married Margaret Moore, 1837, Drumrawn.
Her parents were Arthur Moore 1802-1882, and Mary Simpson 1806-1869.

I want to find info on the parents and trace back. Is there any search facility like Scotlands People for Northern Ireland, with the indexed listings of parents and parish?
Moore, Simpson, Tait, Robertson, Gilchrist, Kelly, Ferguson, Egan, Meikle, Holland, Dixon

Civil registration started 1864 (except for non-Catholic marriages which started in 1845). There is no central place to look for church records. Have a look at these topics-

There was a Willie Moore living in Drumrawn in the 1940's. he was an elderly man at that time and (I think) unmarried. He is likely to be buried in the Presbyterian graveyard at Drumquin or in the Church of Ireland graveyard at either Upper or Lower Langfield.
