It is good to find things yourself but please just post when you find anything you need to clarify.
If you don’t have access to a paid site like Ancestry or FindMyPast, you can find censuses on Family Search. Then cross reference with births etc.
I notice from Lancashire BMD, that Adelaide married at the Great Synagogue, Manchester so other siblings probably did too.
There are Jewish records available and advice available too.

Hi Brenda and welcome to Rootschat.

I've just been having a search on the internet and found this notice in the London Gazette 1854 mentioning Morris and Joseph Rosenthal. You may already have this but I thought I'd post it just in case.

Morris and his wife divorced leaving my Grandfather (Victor Rosenthal) and his mother and siblings in poverty - I know nothing about any of my Grandfathers siblings.  Any help would be so appreciated.

Would you mind giving us more information on Morris, who did he marry, where and when, and when did they divorce.  I have found a divorce record for a Morris and Sarah Rosenthal in 1909 but I don't think he is your Morris, I don't want to go barking up the wrong tree  :)

Thank you so much for the welcome - yes the 2 families you list are correct Heywood; Michael Emanuel and Joseph Rosenthal are my Great Great Grandfathers.  I am trying to find some details about the family jewellery business and if anyone knows details of descendants of Josephs children - his son Morris was my Great Grandfather. Morris and his wife divorced leaving my Grandfather (Victor Rosenthal) and his mother and siblings in poverty - I know nothing about any of my Grandfathers siblings.  Any help would be so appreciated.

Are you sure about the divorce?

Was Victor born abt 1896, Southport to parents Morris and Sarah Ellen Bleasdale?
They are together as a family in 1901 3639/82/8 in Bury.

It looks as though Morris died in 1902 in Manchester. Sarah Ellen is a widow in 1911.

That's what I thought Heywood.  The 1909 divorce was in London where they lived, the wife was Sarah Miller and they had no children.

Sorry, I was cross checking etc and then posted anyway as I had a bit more info.

There is a burial record for Morris, 49 yrs died at the infirmary and was buried July 24th in the burial ground of Manchester Old Hebrew Congregation, Crumpsall - grave number 1678.

No need to be sorry Heywood, the more info the better  :)      It looks like poor Morris has been wrongly accused of abandoning his wife and family.
