Queensland marriage William PRICE 1867
« on: Wednesday 17 January 18 20:04 GMT (UK) »
I have amongst my paperwork from a previous contact a marriage for a William Price.
I was never able to confirm where they found this information and i haven't been able to find any reference to it anywhere.
Can anyone help with this. I am in England.
William PRICE and Anna/Annie/Hannah (The contact has Anna but i know she went by the various names) 11 Dec 1867 in Gayndah Queensland
Thank you Melia

Hi Melia,
Here is Queensland BDM - free to search https://www.qld.gov.au/law/births-deaths-marriages-and-divorces/family-history-research

The closest I can see is a marriage in 1877 of William PRICE to Ann EVANS reg C496
(You can narrow down the date to exact day)

I doubt there was a marriage as she was married to John PLUMB, if she is your Annie RICHARDS.

Yesterday I posted additional information to your original post.

If the marriage is not to be found, why don't you buy the birth certificate of one of the children of the PRICE/ RICHARDS union and learn more about who the mother was.
$21.40. Image to you.

This death of another child of Annie's again draws attention to the fact.
Her name was PLUMB.

1958 B23739 Ada Waldon Rookley BROADHURST
Parents John Harry Rookley PARKER &  Annie RICHARDS ** late PLUMB.

The deaths of two of the children of PRICE/RICHARDS

Informant on Margaret's gives a second given name for father William. Richard.
May or may not be accurate.

1944   C587   George PRICE
Parents William & Annie  RICHARDS

1960   C5935 Margaret   WAKEHAM
Parents William Richard PRICE & Annie RICHARDS

You can search for further information on these people if you think relevant.

One William Richard PRICE died in  Rural QLD in 1919 (C5920) Parents William and Jane COLLINS Another William PRICE died in Charters Towers in 1881 and is buried there. Aged 44. (C1120) Parents John and Ann MORRIS.

Death of another PRICE child??

1960 C2050 Sarah Ann Langtree
Parents William Plume & Annie Richards

Essie
Yes.
I do think it a very good possibility,Essie. Allowing for a good deal of confusion about names on the occasion of the marriage.

The name PRICE seems to have been lost. ;D

Sarah LANGTREE and her husband were residents of Charters Towers from 1903 to 1958 according to Electoral Roll.
The marriage
1890 C1180 Sarah Ann PLUME
 Herbert Hastings LANGTREE

As there was not a marriage between William PRICE/Annie RICHARDS, the mother's name at the birth time (correctly PLUMB), was possibly used for the marriage registration and  wrongly spelled. The birth of one Sarah PRICE is recorded with mother Annie RICHARDS.

I know it is all very confusing!
Its funny how i was given an exact date for William Price's marriage and yet there is no registration for it.
My thinking is that it was entirely possible for Annie/etc to have married a John Plumb/Plume and be with a William Price .

John married in 1867

Birth of William PRICE was registered 1869 (but as Essie says it has 'R' which means registered late) Father William PRICE
William died 1868
Maybe John died or changed his name.

5 more children after that with the name PRICE. None with PLUMB or PLUME
Sarah . Sarah uses Plume in her marriage and on death though
George
Margaret
William Henry

William PRICE(husband) it seems died in 1875 (Report in the Trove) after having his leg amputated leaving a wife and 3 children.

There were 4 children though if the same William.  Annie did re-marry again in 1876 using the name PLUMB

Im trying to collate all the children and there are variations of PRICE/PLUME/PLUMB all over the place, even in Annie's PARKER marriage.

Here in England it  helps that we can view parish registers and this clarify s a lot usually

I may try some certificates

Melia,
This accident happened in Tiaro.
Why would you think it is the correct William PRICE?
The distance between Tiaro and the Townsville/Charters Towers areas is about 700 miles.
