The marriage I have to Elizabeth Pack is on 01 Nov 1802 in Stow Longa, which is up the road from Pertenhall. I think this fits better with the birth of their eldest son William, who was born on 27 Feb 1803 which is a year before the marriage to Elizabeth Tandey on 16 Nov 1804.

We might also consider that both marriages are correct and John Reynolds was actually married three times!

Hi,
Yes I did consider the third marriage for John. Both of these women died in 1815, but Elizabeth Pack seem to have died in Swineshead and I have no evidence the family ever lived there, but that doesn't mean to say that she didn't of course. They are very close. Do you have that as a place of death for Elizabeth Pack?
Its surprising how little evidence we have to firm up an answer for this one.

Its a puzzle.

Hi
I've had a look at my copy of Pertenhall PR and from the baptism notes it looks like Jane remarries .... to a John Oakes by 1825 here are the entries for the baptism of her children with John Rennel(s) notice all different spellings!!!

Pertenhall PR
Rennal David birth date 9 March 1824 baptism 26 May 1824
Rennales Esther Mumford birth 12 July 1821 baptism 7 October 1821
Rennel Susanna birth 3 Nov 1822 baptism 8 Dec 1822
Rennel Rebecca baptism 30 Oct 1825 .. notes Jane now wife of John Oakes
Rennels James birth 11 Jan 1820 baptism 16 April 1820

Have looked for a burial for father John in Pertenhall and cannot find one presuming he died of course his death from these baptisms will be between 1824-5.

And cannot see a marriage for Jane to John Oakes but will look further afield

Hope this helps

John Reynolds (1777) was living with his son James (born 1820) on the 1851 census.

Hi
Pertenhall PR is showing witnesses to the Rennels/ Mumford  marriage of 1819 as Wm Mumford & Wm Munford .
Do you have a record of John's death?

This may help

No date of death that I can find, but he was 84 in the 1861 census and doesn't appear after that.

I have a death index entry for a John Reynolds, registered Oct-Nov-Dec 1861 in St Neots registration district, age 84.

Jane Mumford remarrying to a John Oakes raises some questions. I will have to investigate this further.

Hi
Looking at Pertenhall PR ,  Elizabeth (Pack) Rennales was buried in  St Peter's PERTENHALL  7 May 1815 wife of John aged 32yrs abode Pertenhall  not Swinehead. They also buried 2 children, James 11 March 1818 son of John & Elizabeth and Susanna 28 May 1815 daughter of John.
I have looked at the entries mentioned before under surname of Kennel and I think you will need to get it  checked out at Records Office. My copy of Pertenhall PR is showing the entry for Jane Kennel and also an entry for Joseph Kennel burial at Pertenhall 28 Dec 1825 aged 16yrs well he looks like son of John & Elizabeth born 1809 from his baptism record. Also burials at Pertenhall are James Rennals burial 11 March 1818 aged 4yrs son of John & Elizabeth and Susanna Rennals buried 28 May 1815 daughter of John. On Susanna's baptism it states she was born in Swinshead and baptized privately in Pertenhall.
My Pertenhall PR does show that Jane remarries to John Oakes BUT I would get this checked as it may have been mistranscribed.
