Have you got Margaret's marriage?

Unfortunately, not.  Im wondering why her husband inst recorded at this address too.  Perhaps he was a soldier in the barracks as well..

So who is the George recorded at this address??
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

If you check birth certificates for all the children you may narrow down the dates when George would have left Army. Have you searched for Army records?

Birth of Edward Joseph Mann (father George Mann, dealer)-

Birth of John Edward Horatio Mann (father George Mann, labourer)-

Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Margaret's husband.
If he is in the Barracks he will only be recorded by initials in the Census

at her age she can't have been married long so it not likely her father was still in the Army, looking at the births aghadowney found

It doesn't help that Catherine can't decide where she was born.
Queens County in 1901
Tipperary in 1911

BTW son John's marriage, I was checking it was the correct Catherine.

thank you everyone!

Im wondering what life would have been like as a protestant marrying a roman catholic (George mann and Kate McCormack) - I had assumed marriage wouldn't have been allowed.

Still hoping to find their marriage certificate.

I have searched for Army records but havent been able to narrow things down.  It would help to know which regiment George was in at Athlone.

Marriage of John Dick and Maggie Mann in 1900:

https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1900/10365/5773160.pdf

Have you any evidence that George Mann was a soldier ?

Have you been able to find son George's birth record in England? Is he in Scotland in 1911?
